Carl Hicks

August 19, 1921 — June 11, 2018

Carl E. Hicks, age 96, of Erie, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Village at Luther Square.

He was born in Meadville, PA on August 19, 1921 a son of the late Floyd D. and Mary Hills Hicks.

Carl was a graduate of Erie Tech Memorial High School.  He was an over the road truck driver for many years.  Toward the end of his career, he worked for Penn Brass and Copper and Copes Vulcan.  Carl attended the First Alliance Church for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Jane Kinsinger Hicks, his sisters, Charlotte Hicks, who died at the age of 17, and Geraldine Caldwell, and his brother, Rev. H. Thomas Hicks.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of service there at 11 a.m. with his nephew, the Rev. Tom Hicks of Lakeland, Florida, officiating.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
