Delores Hooven

Delores V. Stromdahl Hooven age 87, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 5, 2018. She was born in Penfield, PA on August 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Alvin and Evelyn Rosenkrans Stromdahl. She attended business school in Buffalo, NY after she graduated from Penfield High School. Delores moved to Erie with her mother and father. She worked as a secretary for Erie Resistor where she met and married her husband Ralph L. Hooven in September 1953. They were married for 56 years. She was the loving mother of three sons, Mark, Todd and Van. After raising her three sons, she worked at Lakewood United Methodist Church until she retired.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Hooven and her beloved son, Todd L. Hooven. She is survived by her eldest son, Mark L. Hooven and his wife Becky Raun Hooven (caregiver), youngest son, Van L. Hooven; two granddaughters, Sarah Raun DeFranco and her husband Bradon and Brittany L. Hooven and one great grandson, Rocco DeFranco. The family wishes to thank VNA Hospice for their love, care and compassion.  Friends may attend a graveside service on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery 4523 Love Road, Erie, PA 16506. Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.  Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice 2253 W.
