Dorothy Park

Dorothy “Jean” Platz Park, age 92, of Fairview and formerly of Girard, passed away Thursday January 10, 2019 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Sebring, Oh on July 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Harley and Lottie Rowe Platz.

Jean was past matron of Girard Chapter #84 Eastern Star.  She was also a lifelong member of Lake City United Methodist Church. During the early 1980’s, Jean proudly served on the Federal Grand Jury for 18 months. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred S. Park and a brother, Francis Platz.

Jean is survived by her beloved family, who were her pride and joy, daughters, Barbara Cook Everett of Fairview, Cynthia Kremenik and her husband Robert of Girard, Suzanne Sherwin and her husband Peter of Cape Coral, FL, Linda Rhoades and her husband Arthur of Lake City and Kathleen Sibbald and her husband William of Edinboro.  She is further survived by 12 grandchildren: Cheryl Briody (Shannon), Debbie Chernek (Dave), Lisa Beer (Rich), Carin Shollenberger (Matt), Robert Kremenik Jr. (Krissy), Leigh Everitt (Russell), Jake Sherwin (Morgan), Bridgette Laitala (Mike), Kelly Sieber (Brandon), Arthur Rhoades Jr. (Jillian), Joshua Sibbald and Ryan Sibbald and 14 1/2 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Sunday from 2 pm until the time of the service at 5 pm with Pastor Ron Cox officiating.
