Lothar Mckellar

October 22, 1959 — August 16, 2022

Lothar McKellar, age 62, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital after a battle with lung cancer.  He was born in Giessen Germany, the only child of Monika Uhlenhaut McKellar and the late Charles McKellar.

Upon graduation from McDowell High School, he served ten years in the U.S. Army.  He was stationed in Germany with the artillery.   He then worked in commercial sales at auto parts stores, most recently Autozone.

Lothar was opinionated and a force to be reckoned with and had a great sense of humor.   He was always busy, building model ships and tanks, gaming and riding his Harley motorcycle.   He was a history buff, especially WWII.  Lothar tended his koi pond with great pride.  He enjoyed traveling to Germany with his wife to visit his grandmother Marie Uhlenhaut.  Most of all, he was a wonderful husband and son.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Vincent Cancer Center and ICU.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a cousin, Christine Horrion.

Along with his mother, Lothar is survived by his wife, Kimberly Blass McKellar, his brother in law, Harvey Blass and his wife Jan, his aunt, Trudy Mueller and her husband, Christian, his half-brother Tony McKellar and his wife Yong of Kentucky, two half-sisters Sarah McKellar and Patricia Veidt and her husband Vernon McKellar, and a cousin Victor Hawthorne of Oklahoma.

Private arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie.

Memorials may be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
