Louis Haas

Louis “Lou” M. Haas, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital.

He was born in Erie on February 15, 1935, a son of the late Louis and Gertrude (Bowen) Haas.

Lou graduated from McDowell high school and worked for American Sterilizer for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed golfing with family and friends and had a love for model trains and had an impressive set-up of his own.

In addition to his parents, Lou is preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Haas and Donald Haas.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane Schlosser Haas; five sons, Gordon (Carol) Haas, of Waterford, PA, Kenneth (Peggy) Haas, of Edinboro, PA, Paul (Lynn) Haas, of Erie, PA, Dan (Judy) Haas, of Erie, PA, and Andy (Dawn) Haas, of Erie, PA; he is further survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home 2532 Norcross Road Erie, PA 16510 on Monday March 12th, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home in the All Faiths Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kuhl Hose Company Fire Department, 3131 Rescue Lane, Erie, PA 16509.
