Mary Bonanti

 Mary Catherine Balzer McKenzie Bonanti, 63, of Millcreek passed away peacefully Friday, November 16, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

 She was born in Silver Creek, NY on February 17, 1955 a daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Schwartz

Balzer.

 Mary was a graduate of McDowell High School. Upon graduation, Mary began a career in the nursing field at Hamot hospital.  She most recently worked at the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center for over 12 years as a surgical technician.  She found her work very rewarding, especially caring for the veterans at the Erie VA.

 Mary was a down to earth and giving person, who touched many people with her kindness and generosity.  She enjoyed music, gardening and travel, but her biggest love was spending time with her family- especially her grandchildren.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved dog “Duke”.

 She is survived by two sons: Michael McKenzie and his wife Tricia of East Springfield; Patrick McKenzie of

Erie; three grandchildren: Jason, Braden, and Hailey McKenzie; two brothers: Blayde and Leroy Balzer

and three sisters: Cynthia Loupe, Rhonda Wolff and Roberta Fuller; and many nieces and nephews.

 Friends call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th St. Erie, on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2 until the time of sharing there at 3:30 p.m.
