Shirley A. Dudenhoefer
Shirley A. Dudenhoefer, 93, of Erie, died peacefully on January 12, 2021 at Sarah Reed Senior Living Center of complications related to Covid-19.She was born in Erie, on January 28, 1927, the daughter of Herbert B. Dudenhoefer and Anna Diehl Dudenhoefer. She lived in the same house on Ellsworth Avenue for 86 years.
She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1945. She was Executive Secretary at Sanida Dairy and later Secretary/Treasurer of Dairy Foods of Erie until her retirement in 1992.
She was a very active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and the choir for 70 years. She took part in all activities in the church and was the first female member of the Church Council. She was also a Board Member of the Lutheran Home, and a member of the Lutheran Home Auxiliary, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Church Women United, and the Erie Business and Professional Women’s Organization. She also did volunteer work at the Emmaus Soup Kitchen and Mercy Center for Women. She traveled extensively and enjoyed golfing.
She is survived by her family at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and numerous cousins.
According to her wishes, burial will be private and are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th St., Erie. A memorial services will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church after Covid restrictions are lifted.
